FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What should we do if a concentrator starts alarming?

If a concentrator is alarming its very possible that the unit needs to be exchanged for repair. That said, there are some trouble shooting techniques that should be tried prior to replacing the unit for repair.

  • Ensure all sides of the concentrator have at least 3 to 4 inches clearance from walls, curtains, beds, etc.…..concentratos must have ample room around them so they are able to vent the warm air from their motors. If the unit senses that it is getting to warm, it will alarm in an effort to protect itself from damage caused by over heating
  • Check to ensure there is a black ball in the liter flow regulator. We often find units turned all the way past the highest liter flow and the ball is buried at the top of the meter where it cant be seen. Turn the dial down several times until the ball can be seen them set the ball at the desired liter flow.
  • Ensure the unit is plugged in. Equipment is moved on a regular bases due to cleaning, new admissions, etc.….When this happens units inadvertently become unplugged.
